Why not try out the Fantastic Training Opportunities for Manchester Residents, regardless of age?

Do you have clients/volunteers/a group or even friends and family who would be interested in accessing a new training course? Then read on.

Manchester Event Volunteers: Who are they?
Manchester Event Volunteers (MEV) developed from the Volunteer Crew at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. Volunteering with them is about personal choice and volunteers can decide which events they would like to be involved with from a list of opportunities which are updated regularly. MEV also have a range of training opportunities that can lead to recognised qualifications.

What are MEV offering you and how can you work together?
If you would benefit from taking part in a Working with Others course you can register your interest via e-mail at info@mev.org.uk or you can sign up by phone on 0161 234 1532. You are under no obligation to volunteer with MEV if you take part in this course. However, if you do decide to take part, there are some fantastic volunteering opportunities available.

What topics does the course cover?
Working with Others has been developed by Manchester Event Volunteers and covers useful topics such as Teamwork, Communication, Health and Safety and is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN). Once the course is completed, you can choose to study further courses. The course runs for a total of 14 hours and, where possible, is delivered at times and in venues to suit the commitments of the group.

What are the eligibility criteria?
Manchester Event Volunteers are offering these courses to Manchester residents, over the age of 18, who would like to gain a qualification and are prepared to attend 14 hours of training.

What do I need to do next?
Please note that these courses may fill up fast, so please register your interest as soon as possible. If you require volunteers for your organisation, please log on to www.mev.org.uk.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about what's on offer, please call Mark, Chris or Kristian at the Central MEV Team on 0161 234 1532 or e-mail info@mev.org.uk
