Much of the content on these sites is produced by Community Reporters.

Community Reporters are people who have got something to say, and enjoy saying it - real people, with real stories. If you've got access to a computer, you can be a Community Reporter. You can use words, pictures, audio or video - whatever you feel most comfortable with, it doesn't really matter. Likewise it doesn't really matter what you talk or write about (within reason! See our editorial policy) – it doesn't have to be 'news', as such, it can just be something you want people to know about.

If you're already doing something- perhaps you write a blog - you can become a Community Reporter without doing anything more than what you're doing at the moment. If you're based in Manchester, or doing things in Manchester, and have a blog or a website, why not link it up to our site via an RSS feed? You'll get thousands more people reading about the things that matter to you.

Being a Community Reporter means that you'll get access to free training and media equipment, such as video cameras and laptops, which you can then use to produce even more content, in even more imaginative ways! All we ask from you is that you produce something that we can link to on the site.

If you're new to all this stuff, but want to get involved, we can offer you training, starting with the basics of using a computer, to how to make and edit your own films.

For more background information on the programme go to People's Voice Media Community Reporters

If you want to see some of the things our Community Reporters have already produced, visit our multimedia pages or click on one of the feeds coming into our site.

If you're interested in becoming a Community Reporter, please email me at jess@mcin.net, or give me a ring on 0161 230 1430.

If you're not interested in being a Community Reporter but would like to contribute to our community news service by feeding your blog or website to this site through RSS then click on the Contribute to Feeds link above.
